Day trip to The Black Isle.

Enjoy a good day trip from Camerons Cottage to the Black Isle, about a one hour drive away across the Kessock Bridge north. Take a signposted right turn and journey on to the village of Rosemarkie and visit the Fairy Glen Nature Reserve. Take a leisurely stroll through the woods, alongside the babbling stream, looking at the wonderful wild flowers and listening to the various bird calls, until you reach the Lower Waterfall. A more strenuous climb will take you up to the double Upper Waterfall.

After the walk drive back to Chanonry Point opposite Fort George and sit at the picnic tables for lunch. If you get there as the high tide is just coming in then you may see the pod of Bottlenose Dolphins that inhabit the waters of the Moray Firth and dine on the salmon that come in on the high tide.......so do check the tide times as they are well worth seeing.
