Mother deer walked through Farigaig Forest with her new offspring, could only be a few days old.

Pine marten

Young pine marten seen in local garden opening on to Farigaig Forest overlooking South Loch Ness.

Wild primroses

Clumps of wild primroses appear everywhere and brighten up the woodland and roadside verges.

Lambs appearing in the fields

New born lambs are appearing in the fields around Loch Ness......bouncing around energetically and then zzzzzzzzzz

Look out for the big brown hares in the area.

Blue sky thinking

Wonderful clear blue sky all day but with a slight chill in the air. Should be lots of stars to see tonight. Walked down to Farigaig pier on Loch Ness and soaked up the amazing views. Most of the snow has now gone from the mountain tops at lower levels and enjoyed the feeling that Spring is on its way.

Scottish wildcat seen

Scottish Wild Cat seen very near Camerons Cottage at Glenlia Farm yesterday following our farm cat Lucy .The first Scottish Wildcat seen by the Cameron family in the area for 20 years. Quite a spectacular sight.

Great Spotted Woodpecker

Keep your eyes and ears alert for the Great Spotted Woodpeckers in the area. These birds are seen more frequently in gardens now and are unmistakable with their stunning colours.
